About a month ago I got ghosted by my first real job just a couple months in, and it happened at a real inconvenient stage in my life. I didn’t qualify for unemployment, so I was just kinda fucked and had to deal with it entirely on my own. I did manage to save some money during those two months, but now I’m running out and finding another job has been more challenging than I thought it would be.
My mother works at a grocery store, and she told me she’d talk to her manager about getting me hired there too. Couple dollars more than local min wage, night stocking shelves, which I actually enjoy doing so long as I’m not pushed into working at a ridiculous pace. So she set me up with an interview with her manager, and here’s where I find out it’s a temporary position opening up because her union is about to go on strike. The manager is telling me I might have to cross a picket line. My own mother set me up to scab at her workplace, and she didn’t tell me.
Needless to say, I felt betrayed. She also feels betrayed at me for not taking the job. Lots of feelings of betrayal going around. So I’m back at square one, running out of money.
I need help paying for my Buprenorphine prescription this month and the next, and have no where to turn right now but Hexbear. It’s 60 dollars with GoodRX, so I need to raise $120. I saw some other comrades in bad situations have actually been receiving judgement free aid here, and that’s honestly fucking amazing.

I know cashapp is the most popular thing overall in US but you’d probably have better chances if you also post a paypal, venmo, zelle, etc. due to geographical preferences of certain apps

I set up a Venmo account and added that to my original post. I also set up paypal and zelle accounts, but I’m not sure how to use those without doxing myself.
Honestly this might be the only decent use for cryptos. Opsec is the only thing keeping me from dropping cash on posts in this comm.

I have no spare money (I’m also seriously struggling) but I do have spare buprenorphine I could donate. I realize you’d have to share location details (or better, a PO box) and mailing that to you would be a little sketch for the both of us, so hopefully other people will come through with the funds you need for it, I expect they will. But if not, I’m willing to send what I have, and depending on your daily dose, it should be more than a month’s worth. So at least know that there is another option that doesn’t include the horrors of bupe withdrawal, if it comes to that.
Sorry to hear about the situation with your mom. That’s a tough position to be put in, but as I’m sure you know, you did absolutely nothing to betray her by refusing to fucking scab, even if she feels like you did. I hope after a while she’s able to see that it’s just her son being a good, principled, thoughtful person in such a way that she should be proud of.
I really appreciate the offer and will keep that in mind in case I can’t put together enough money. I’m on 16mg daily and I don’t need to refill until the end of the week.
And also thanks for the perspective. It’s difficult because money is also extremely tight for her as well, but she doesn’t seem to have any kind of solidarity for other working people and it really breaks my heart.
