Look; this instance exist because of censorship. Mostly anti covid and election interferance censorship.
I’m trying to set an example for freedom of expression here. That means I need to occasionally tolerate views I don’t agree with. Like communist who deny genocide is taking place. Or people who think interracial marriage leads to inferior offspring. (My children are mixed, i’m in a interracial marriage )
But we need to make one thing clear. Nazis absolutely disgust me.
I have Jewish friends and they don’t shape shift at night.
That said; if someone respectfully expresses an opinion especially backed with articles and science I will not censor it.
If you think someone is so terrible but aren’t willing to put in the effort to “debunk” their claims then in my mind you just accept they are right.
We have user block; community block functions and everyone can use them if they don’t like content.
For the most part I don’t get people here complaining about to many bad opinions but generally want less censorship.
But there is occasionally those that do here and else where so I need to virtue signal a bit here.
While I may disagree with you on some things, I think it is healthy that you are sharing this, since it helps you to keep it going. I mean, if our critics can only see that we all think for ourselves, that this is not an echo chamber, and by you saying you don’t approve of this speech, but allow it to some point, you are fighting for free speech. I don’t know how to say any of this, actually, but you posting as you do is healthy for all of us, I think. So you are being a role model of sorts and helping to pave the way for sites such as these.
One thing that gets me is that the alternatives get closed down when something when a member/user does something violent or stupid. After the Charlottesville incident, we lost a number of online sites that supported free speech, and we lost at least one KKK chapter.
I have mixed feelings about the KKK. They have a horrible legacy they can never live down or redeem, it seems. It claimed to be a Christian organization, and it was started by Democrats. Yeah, the US parties were swapped from how we know them now. The Democrats were the conservatives back when the KKK started. Now, the KKK was rather decentralized. There were local chapters, and while they coordinated with other chapters, they sometimes blacklisted or excluded other chapters for various reasons. There were chapters with gay and Jewish leaders/members. That was part of the exclusions between the groups. And if you moved and transferred to another chapter, they might vet your old chapter. What most KKK chapters state in their constitution and bylaws sounds pretty noble. What is wrong with defending White existence and keeping places that are safe for White children? And some chapters have had interesting histories. For instance, one chapter teamed up with their local NAACP chapter to tackle the issue of illegal immigration. Another chapter fought for their right to “adopt” a highway. That led to a number of joke comments such as, “How can I object to White trash picking up trash off the side of highways?” Of course, other states didn’t feel the same way, feeling that if they put their organization’s name on road signs to honor them for picking up trash, they were somehow condoning the organization or what they supported. So virtue signaling by accusing others of virtue signaling and working to prevent it.
I’m sick of virtue signaling to be sure. If you ask ordinary Americans if they would rather see a Pride Flag or a Swastika flying outside their school, I’d imagine many would opt for neither one. It would be nice if the Left could look at it that way. Is promoting sexual indecency and sexual lawlessness any better than promoting racism and hatred? I believe people, in general, need to stop thinking with their emotions.
