A few people have complained to me about temp banning the seeer.
His ban was for a week.
Douchebags enazis like that come to the site, talk shit about the admins until one of them take action and then go scream to all their dumb ass “friends”, “nOt fReE sPeEcH”. Not that they have real friends but people they recognize online.
In any event I unbanned him for now.
I’ve been preaching this for months but the point of wolfballs is to be a federated platform. That limits any single admins power to censor.
Notice how lemmy guys are all communist but we can talk all the shit about communist we want yet we do actually form a larger community.
See the instance federation map here https://lemmymap.feddit.de
We of course are basically the most blocked instance. I think because censorship nazi’s tend to be first to create instances. They feel small and weak in real life so they want to create a world they have power over the people in it. The scientific term is little dick energy. Those types of people are first to ban us. Nobody actually uses their instances anyways. We are also like the 3rd or 4th largest. While being pretty young compared to most. It’s basically lemmy, lemmygrad because of genzadong migrating there and then wolfballs.
So we need more freedom instances. If our extremely laxed moderation style is for some reason to much for retards like seer they should be able to log on to another instance. The problem right now is there is no instance with more laxed moderation than wolfballs. Or even one with similar moderation style but maybe slightly different. We need more instances for that reason to give users choice. It’s really cheap and I will personally set up the instance for you, show you how to do it yourself if you want to do it and need help.
There are now a few pretty good instances that don’t ban reasonable opinions other than us. See manders instance and https://gtio.io/. However those are more specialized and still not as laxed as the bawls.
fuck em
Oh cool, another instance! I didn’t know about gtio.
My view is that everyone with a little technical ability should be running their own instances. I’ve got nextcloud, lotide, pleroma, peertube, searx, and invidious instances running and I’m not relying on anyone but myself to grant me access to websites, and I don’t need to ask permission to do with my own data as I please.
People probably don’t need to go as far as I did, but a few key instances like Lemmy or lotide and pleroma or mastodon really open things up for you.
If I could buy more raspberry pis i would host all that. electronic shortage wont end. I do need to set up next cloud.
Been grabbing these super cheap on ebay. Lots of high reliability power for not a lot of money.
