Went to a beach with some friends and wasn’t able to wash my feet off before getting in the car. The car had rubber mats and I just had to hover my feet above it but even that was miserable. I don’t remember being so bothered by textures as a kid, it often feels like that symptom has gotten so much worse. The car ride was only 10 ish minutes but it felt like forever and I had to hold back tears for a good portion of it.

Now I am isolating myself from everyone and my girlfriend is bringing me food from the kitchen. Everyone other than my girlfriend thinks I have a headache. Idk what I’d do without her. The sourdough toast and stardew valley are making me feel better as well.

Idk how to end this I just needed to get it out yk?

Venting is a valid process, buddy. Thank your girlfriend and do something special for her if you can, someone that understands you like that is special. Enjoy the toast and Stardew Valley!

I can’t stand sand on my feet, never liked it. I don’t like sand… Literally quote Anakin sand meme for real lol I have different texture issues with clothing and various other things, along with misophonia and light sensitivity so right across the board issues… I’m glad your girlfriend is taking care of you, hope you feel better soon, have fun with Stardew

I,ve recently noticed that i get so much more conscious of bad textures (and other things) when my mental health is real low (stressed to the gills or something) ive recently had to ask my partner to stop touching me after their hands felt uncomfortable on my skin, and it feels like shit.

but dont beat yourself up over it, i hope you can at least laugh about it with your partner soon. Im glad theyre looking after you.

    Fuck the beach

Do your best comrade, it isn’t always easy. My gf is incredibly understanding but it still gets in the way of things and can be frustrating for her. Help your partner but don’t deny your own emotions even if it means dealing with them in private for their sake. I say this speaking from personal experience, your frustration is valid and shouldn’t be shoved down for too long. Best of luck o7

Hope this doesn’t seem preachy :P

Quick solution: always bring a bottle of water with you when going to the beach. For your feet. And if you don’t have one near, find someone that has any empty bottle and fill it will water, even from the sea.

Can I ask why you didn’t just brush off your feet? It takes a couple minutes and you can do it in the car. God gave man vacuum cleaners specifically for cleaning sand out of cars.

Understandable response but it was because my feet were still wet and the sand was also all over the floor where I would have put my feet. Brushing them off wouldn’t get all the sand
