It’s so hot. Being outside feels like being in a video game and not having heat resistant gear, like you can feel the clock ticking down until you start taking damage.
My parents moved us here when I was 10 and I’ve wanted to leave since day 1. It’s been over 15 years and my parents moved back out years ago. The only thing keeping me here was my partner finishing her PhD, now that that’s done it’s time to go
I can’t say I’ll miss it, but I’m still scared to leave. I’ve been here so long and I’ve been at this job for most of the time I’ve been working, so the change is scary.
Congrats and good luck! One of my nightmares is that my family finally agrees to leave the day AFTER whatever fash governor we have erects a shipping container wall at the border and starts rounding up homeless people.
10 days. 10 days and I leave this place.

Congrats on getting out
Thank you

Everything I’ve heard about Florida makes it sound like hell. Congrats to them! A PhD is such an accomplishment.
Definitely, moving is scary. You’ll do okay though, I’m rooting for you.
Change often feels scary, even when the change is eventually for the better. I wish you good luck on your journey!

That’s been my fear for a couple years, that shit’s gonna pop off and I’m gonna be on the wrong side of that border
