The punk/hardcore comparison actually helped since I’ve been into both genres lol.

Previously my only real exposure to breakcore/jungle was when it was sampled into gabber/hardcore techno and I know I dug the drums a lot. I am a bit familiar with Th Chemical Brothers and def listened to The Prodigy. I spent a bit of time listening to The Glitch Mod but I think that was based on me seeking out glitch-hop stuff. I’m gonna look more into breakcore now because I def liked a lot of what was in the video, granted I skimmed it lol.

For Breakcore artists to check out, Venetian Snares is probably the best one to start with. Pretty big discography and also more on the IDM side of the spectrum.

Igorrr is another good one, especially if you’re into Rock/Metal type stuff since their music heavily fuses Metal and Breakcore. There’s also Alec Empire’s album “The Destroyer,” which is what I’ve usually seen credited as being the first Breakcore album (though from what I’ve heard, Alec has become a bit of a right-wing shithead in recent years, so probably try not to give him any money if you’re gonna listen to it).

Gonna check these out tomorrow probs when I get back to trying to start my component library I have been planning for my web dev stuff. Breakcore has been one of my favored genres for writing code so I am eager to toss breakbeat on and just vibe lol.
