Cloudflare announced plans on Monday to launch a marketplace in the next year where website owners can sell AI model providers access to scrape their site’s content. The marketplace is the final step of Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince’s larger plan to give publishers greater control over how and when AI bots scrape their websites.

      To be fair that’s a separate issue. Ideally we should have something Cloudflare like but decentralized

      As opposed to giving all that unencrypted traffic to Cloudflare and letting them make money from it?

          Well, yes, that’s the whole point of their existence. How else would they be able to evaluate the traffic? They can read everything in plain text.
