    This is the Aztec period correct? From my limited understanding, Mesommerica in that period never used the wheel as a tool (ex cart), but they’ve dug up numerous toys like this with wheels, what were they thinking? lol

      It is a bit like the ancient steam engines. Since they didn’t have any large draft animals they didn’t develop carts. And since there weren’t any carts, roads weren’t made with them in mind etc.

      Nah, Aztecs weren’t until like 14th century, this would be more late Olmec/early Totonac.

      Certain sorts of terrain and domesticable animal make for using wheels as transports industrially.

      One can imagine ways around it, but that didn’t happen and it’s more obvious to us because we live in wheel culture
