I once wore a tie to a meeting and I swear it made all the dipshits in ties feel that their opinions on technology were as valid as mine.

I gave away all of my ties after that meeting.

The world just isn’t safe for everyone else when us non-dipshits wear ties.

I just know I’m a bad engineer. No matter how hard I work to understand things like JS, large scale file organisation in a production codebase confuses me. Why is this a component? Why is this code in app.js and not in a component? Why do these things appear in this position on the page? Note that I’m still asking this with 3 YoE, so I don’t feel great about myself haha.

A couple jobs back I was talking to the CEO and he told me that he makes sure the developers wear shorts and t shirts when talking to investors because developers who dress nice aren’t perceived as competent.
