I supported the banning of Russians on the Linux kernel. I also pointed out that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was unprovoked and unjustified.

Somehow I don’t think they liked my opinion. I’ve had my fill of Lemmy.ml and I’m trying to move off of it completely. It appears I’m not totally banned from Lemmy.ml but that probably will change in a heartbeat.

Ah yeah I engaged in that discussion as well. Only got a comment deleted though. lemmy.ml gets wilder and wilder, they are openly tolerating support for Russias invasion of Ukraine at this point.

It’s a good thing to get banned there I guess.

I got a similar ban from that community after the moderator started spouting conspiracy theories at me and I didn’t agree with them. I noticed they removed most of my comments in that thread, but not all of them… Not sure if it was accidental, but the ones with non-negative karma were the ones that got removed.

This is also how I discovered a moderator that bans you from their community effectively prevents you from deleting any of your posts in it, which makes me feel… Uncertain about the ML mods having such control over the stuff its users post.

By all means, support it. It will be good for the Russian government, as well as motivate awareness of geopolitical concerns among programmers. 🤠 Just like the sanctions, you NATOids are too arrogant to notice you’re helping the Kremlin and pushing them to the east.

As I said, banned for unapproved opinion.

I do not support Ukraine because of being the most corrupt country, at the very least in Europe. I’ve also heard various people say they need to defend to protect the global banking system. Watch videos of citizens in Ukraine, nobody is getting a part of the $150 billion, it’s goijg into people bank accounrs.

If possible, I want Russia to lose and Ukraine to lose. It is a tyrannical gangster at war with mass corruption. Evil vs evil.

Ukraine isn’t the corrupt county you think it is. Even if it was, that hardly justifies an invasion.

Let’s be honest the real reason Putin invaded Ukraine is because he wanted a Russia controlled buffer between mainland Russia and the west.

Ukraine is by far the most corrupt. The Ukranian government hav National Socialists in power. You might know them as Nazis. There are Ukranian officials who did kill Jews, and are now being honoured for the sake if the war against Russian. Politicians had hitmen that used chainsaws for executions. Up close and personal killings. Government of Ukraine is evil and corrupt, and the Ukranian people have always suffered because of their government, not because of Russia, pre-invasion.

Russian propaganda. There is little evidence yo backup those claims. I’ve also met and talked with Ukrainians. They want there country back as Russia took there lively hood.

You need to travel the world and experience other ways of living if you believe government never murders their own citizens and dumps the bodies in acid so the dead person vanishes into thin air. No body, no corpse.

What could possibly have led him to decide thats what would be best for the ruling class of his country? Did he or other members of the Russian government never express this sentiment? If they did, what were their reasons, and regardless of what those reasons were, why wasn’t enough done about them?

Are all questions you should think about and look into maybe

Honestly, he wants to return Russia to it’s ‘glory days’, which means back when it was an imperial power, and they could send tanks into Hungary to crush people protesting for democracy. When Ukrainians threw out their pro-Russian president, he saw that influence he wanted slipping away.

Ukraine certainly was one of the most corrupt nations in Europe. Pre-pandemic its CPI score was 30, placing it between Bolivia and Myanmar.

Russia scored 28 (ie, worse). So I’m not sure what outcome you expect from Ukraine losing. I’m also interested to hear if you think countries like Mexico, Nigeria or Cambodia, also below Ukraine in the ranking, are “evil” and don’t deserve statehood.

It’s better for the Ukrainian people that they be their own national state and not a satellite state. But I am not willing to trust Ukraine with any outside resources and gullibly believe they won’t be stolen from the people, like the billions of dollars being dumped on Ukrain, the people are still hungary and the soldiers don’t have weapons. Somone from outside has to clean up the Ukranian government in order to function for the private citizen.

I feel the same way about Haiti. The people need a mass amount of help, but any donations, whether food or money, is not staying in Haiti, so people have to go to Haiti to help, sending money will not make its way to help anyone.

And yes, I do think Mexican givernment is evil, Nigarian government is evil, but I’m all good with the people. Also, the American government is evil as well.
