      It just boils down to too many white people here. Like I said in an earlier mega, the fact that a US-centric leftist website with zoomers and millennials as its generational demographic isn’t at least 60% POC is disgraceful. The percentage of Hexbear being white is probably around the same as British zoomers. So not even British leftist zoomers, which would exclude white nationalist types like UKIP supporters, but the general zoomer population of the UK. That’s how white Hexbear is.

    be it Africans in Fr*nce, Native-indians and Black people in the U.S., '48 Arabs in occupied Palestine… etc I do not understand how their necks can withstand heads that fall that low.

      The enlightened critic can plead that if we all agreed to denounce the {colonizer’s} status quo in unison we’d be immensely rewarded, but the average {colonized subject} in the first world cannot be accused of naiveté for preferring to keep a low profile, particularly after being subject — to so many grim stories of murder and of punishment and of how any attempt at radical change {eg. slave revolt, indigenous revolt} always goes awry.

      People aren’t “brainwashed” insofar as they don’t actually believe the lies, not in the way that we generally understand belief. It’s more correct to say that {the colonized group} go along with {being assimilated to colonized identity}, whether enthusiastically or apprehensively, because it’s actually their optimal survival strategy. When we concede that the time horizon and scope of responsibility within which we all make our decisions varies, it becomes much easier to see how their choice {seems} smart and intelligent.

    as i get older it seems like no matter how hard i try i will inevitably end up in prison, homeless, or dead before any chance of living a life of peace, having space of my own, knowing what genuine love (platonic and non) feels like. and any attempt against it just delays the inevitable

    i’m completely invisible… and not uniquely so. many other people are and were as well. they were ignored and neglected and fell through the cracks, and its only a matter of time til i vanish as well.

      I feel very hopeless and invisible too often. Because of how “rare” my circumstances seem, I question if things will ever truly improve for me.

      I have a bit of bloomer capacity, but eh, as of late especially, it hasn’t been the best. I feel like there has been far more racist, bigoted bullshit on the internet than usual. So much that it’s even reaching its worst on Hexbear.

    I didn’t watch it but if this mike tyson jake paul nonsense doesn’t sum up the shitshow that America (frankly most of the world) has been and the mass delusion they’re under Idk what does. Same mfs that concluded that covid only killed older folks thought it was a good idea to sanction a bout with a near 60 year old and broadcasted it on the biggest possible platforms like netflix saying “hey look here we have absolutely no standards or regard for reality or safety measures”.     I hate how socialism got washed out of poc historical figures, like many activists and revolutionaries were outright open socialists like literally you read their autobiography and they say in it “we must achieve socialism” but no one talks about it.

      This reminds me of how V***h claimed that Fred Hampton is one of his biggest inspirations for why he became a leftist, even though the funny-clown-hammer says a lot of anti-“tankie” stuff. Leftism is seriously just flashy aesthetics for so many people, especially many white “leftists.”

      Its part of the process of propagandizing the populace in America (and of course that gets exported due to America’s soft power).

      I’d like to think I had a relatively decent education, but it wasn’t until late in high school that I started getting exposed to the more leftist elements of the Civil Rights movement. Even then I don’t remember learning much about some of the leaders of the Black Panthers because usually they are just mentioned in passing. Malcolm X is always presented as a problematic figure. MLK is completely white washed and you’re beaten over the head with “I have a dream” and the effectiveness of peaceful disobedience. And thats not even going into international POC socialist leaders.

    Gonna refrain from browsing outside of c/em_poc for however long it takes for me to feel comfortable browsing other comms again. This site really can utterly disgust me with how inconsiderate people here are about respecting ethnic minorities and people of color. Like I said, it’s no mystery why this comm is the only comm where I don’t expect to see flat-out evil bullshit pop up in one form or another.

      So many Western white feminists do not actually care about ending oppression. Their issue with patriarchy is that it personally inconveniences them, but they’ll side with white supremacy if given the chance. Women who are less privileged than them, such as women of color, trans women, poor women, disabled women, and women in the Global South seem way beyond their capacity to care about.

        This been the case for the past hundred years. I will never forget about the way the suffragettes we were taught SO MUCH about in history class, these supposedly-progressive, supposedly-saintly white women who secured the right to vote for women in Amerika really went out of their way to lock Black women out of that win. Was a white woman that killed Emmett Till.

        No cap I do not trust white women, especially not if they call themselves feminists.

          White people are notorious for taking a single marginalized group that they’re a part of and acting like it makes them an “innocent wittwe victim 🥺” who can no longer oppress or do anything wrong. White women and white queers are perfect examples of this. This isn’t to downplay the bigotry they face, but like I’m saying, their primary issue with that bigotry tends to be that it personally inconveniences them. They don’t want to actually end oppression as a whole. White supremacy is just too beneficial for them, and they’re too selfish to give up that benefit.

            Sounds about white.

            Reminder that the tendency for Hexbear to be as uncomfortable for POC as it is stems from the fact that there are so many cracKKKers here and none of them want to be held accountable. None of them want to decolonize their minds because why would they? White supremacy is just too precious of a benefit for these ghouls.

            Hexbear is not intersectional nor has it ever been. Can it become that way? I can only hope.
