Summary

On his first day in office, Trump signed an executive order mandating federal agencies use the term “sex” instead of “gender,” erasing recognition of gender identity.

This has led to the removal of essential information from government websites, including Social Security Administration guides on changing sex identification, LGBTQIA+ resources, and State and Labor Department pages on gender discrimination and passports.

Critics argue the policy spreads misinformation, adds stress for LGBTQ+ individuals, and echoes Trump’s previous suppression of climate change data during his first term.

I’m partial to the idea that they’re terrified of hitting on a trans woman. In their mind, there is a fear of being perceived as attracted to someone outside their rigid definition of femininity, which challenges their fragile masculinity and internalized homophobia.
