For comparison, here’s a pic of a Cooper’s Hawk I took a pic of a few days ago. I’m guessing the one op posted is a juvenile?

Because of how it is.
I agree: big head, rounded tail feathers. But it’s just a guess. Even Audubon says it can be a toss up.
In my neighborhood, I always default to Cooper’s. One of the things I look for is the angry eyebrow.
Merlin says Sharpie is more likely here, but I agree that the head looks much more Cooper-y. But he didn’t have the grey back I associate with Cooper’s, and seemed too big for a juvenile.
Either way I love those chest bars.
Cooper’s I’ve seen have redder eyes, but it’s hard to say.
