Inspired by a podcast of the same name (running is BS) that loves to hate running.
This week I particularly hate running because…
Spring time in upon the northern hemisphere, but that brings about the freaking hoard of hovering flies 🪰🪰🪰🪰🪰 at mouth level for easy ingestion.
Whether it is parks, trails, by water bodies, I can’t seem to get away from them and always end up eating a mouthful of tiny flies, or at least up in my nostrils.
The worst was when I held my breath over a few steps thinking I made it through a patch, and gasping my way into another horde and engulfing a mother road after. UGH.
I’m engaged in a 10 year battle against chafing. I finally found shorts I like, but they were manufactured in partnership with my local running store, and they couldn’t justify keeping the program going.
Then I switched to Asics 2 in 1 with built in boxer-briefs. I thought they were perfect but I swear the last 2 pairs I had lasted less than 5 runs before a hole opened up and allowed chafing.
Now I’ve been running in LuLuLemon shorts that are a tad smaller than I’d prefer, but they’ve been completely chafe free and seem to be holding up structurally.
15 year running chafer here, I’ve learnt to live it with some help from Vaseline.
Tired of spending countless bucks on tops, tights and shorts only for the designs to change in a few years to chafe again, or my body grows in whatever ways to chaf.
I just slab on the vase
