I don’t think the response will be what the US expects. China will not fall into the US’ trap, but their response will be devastating nevertheless. The military component will be the least important, if China even begins to flex its economic muscle on Taiwan or the US in earnest they will wish China had only invaded.

I would bet on an economic or resource response only. Something affecting a key market since most of the US economy is tied up in Chinese industry anyway. Somehow Russia also formulated the perfect strategy to hit all the pressure points at an optimal time.

They almost HAVE to do something. Pelosi going to Taiwan is fucking dumb.

If you have business with Chinese officials, then speak to them on the mainland.

If the US and China goes to war, the US empire (possibly the entire Western empire) will collapse. Mark my words.

If only considering conventional weapons, China would absolutely whip America’s ass in a war over Taiwan, but America has a nuclear policy that basically goes, “if we’re losing a war, we’ll nuke them”. So, a direct war between the US and China might not end too well for China and humanity either. America is a falling power, and that’s what makes it so dangerous.

They’ll never use those resources to bring the country up though. They have the best arable land to population ratio by far yet there are tons of people starving and malnutritioned. They have the most plentiful oil fields yet gas prices are unaffordable for many Americans

Those resources will empower individual people and not the country. It’s a different scenario to China or Russia where those resources has been nationalized to bring up the standard and quality of living of everybody

The USA is deeply incompetent on most levels.

The USA used their unique position after WW2 to create the mess we’re in now (literally on the brink of extinction). The only thing they are capable of is extracting profits and propagandizing their own population and their allies.

Look at what Russia has done in just a few months. They have the west shitting their pants. China is maybe the most competently ran government on earth.

Edit: sorry, autocorrect changed competently to ‘conveniently’ at first before I noticed 😔

All I know is they’ve been getting their asses kicked against comparatively weak and tiny countries lately, and they think they can take on both China and Russia at the same time?

Maybe I’m not getting something, but why does China make those threats? Can’t they just ignore the provocations from the US? I mean China threatening to take action is exactly what the US wants, right?

The US’ constant aggression can only be ignored for so long. They are trying to create a Russia/Ukraine situation in Taiwan. There has to be a red line somewhere.
