Why can they not wear a helmet without getting involved in politics? What kind of weird take is that?

If you can spare a few hours every week getting involved in a great use of your time. Not just for safer infrastructure. Hold your town accountable in other things.

Most people only care after things happen. People should show up when things are being decided on.

Getting involved in local bike politics is more effective for keeping you safe while biking. Nobody said anything about what people can and cannot do.

No, I expect them to at least go yo the ballot and vote for people who are pro cycling, for example.

Yeah fuck off. I’m keeping my helmet and I’ll keep on judging dimwits riding without. Fucking stupid riding without.

sure, keep on wearing your helmet, but don’t let it obscure you from fighting the real problem: badly designed streets making cycling unsafe.

more people die falling down stairs & hitting their head, than riding a bicycle & hitting their head. A helmet should only be necessary if you’re going very fast (road bike, fast e-bike) or off-road (mountainbike). If felt needed by the majority of cyclists in regular urban situation: how the urban environment was built, sucks.
