Mine was either mastodon or matrix. I got into both at the same time. What are some other fediverse sites for beginners?

@Bicyclejohn I think it was when I first heard about Diaspora*. But back then I just didn’t try it. Just heard about it and I thought that I’d get there at some point. Then I heard about Mastodon way back a few years ago, but I didn’t join because I didn’t (and still don’t) like Twitter. Then I decided to test a Facebook alternative (I was for a long time decided to move away from Zuck’s garden and kept adding personal life milestones for this), and here I am, on Friendica 😁

@Bicyclejohn It depends. If you want to try out new stuff, then yes. Or if you want a network with the feature setthat it has, and which can communicate with pretty much all other networks on the Fediverse. Also, one of the Features of Friendica is that you can have your account automatically reshare everything you post from other accounts. So if you want to have your one-stop-shop for everything Fedi, do try it out 😁

Edit: thought I was in a different thread lol

@Bicyclejohn on Android? I tried it for a while, so it is safe. You can always scan it if you have some doubts (virustotal scans apk files as well iirc).

What I do not like about the app is that the dev seems to kinda hide some Friendica features for the sake of user-friendliness. For example, I couldn’t figure out how to add titles to posts, nor did I see how to dislike a post. And you kinda have to keep in mind the BBCode formatting as there are no suggestions, like on the web for example:

[![Here’s what you get when you type “[” in the web UI](https://i.imgur.com/bMTHskx.png "Here’s what you get when you type "" in the web UI")

I’d try it once again tho to see how things evolved.
