This teacher who somehow in a test phrased a problem about two people reading the same book, one reading 24 pages daily and the other reading 25. The teacher insisted there was a day in which both readers would end their reading on the same page, which didn’t make any sense whatsoever, and because of their poor wording it really confused more than half the class into reaching a wrong result… And the teacher marked those as correct! I remember arguing for about a week about it until my father had to come in person to reason basic maths with the teacher, lol.
Eventually we got the gradings right. But that teacher was so damn stubborn, it was hilarious.
I’m guessing what he was going for was common multiples, where you could say there are page numbers which both readers would end their day on. But not on the same day…
Yes. But the way the days and time was mentioned made it sound like a trick question, occasionally we got those too. It was clearly a mistake, but she wasn’t going to admit it to the class. I hope I don’t become like that when I grow old :/
