How many days ago did this guy join this web site and I am already getting the reddit treatment.

I don’t even know why… I just tried to make a comment just now and it wouldn’t let me.

I think it illustrates the point I’ve been making for over a decade that the problem with reddit started when they introduced subs and mods. Any new “reddit” that does the same will never be a true space for free speech like the original was in the beginning. The model depends on self moderation using the voting and hiding system.

Unfortunately lemmy will suffer just like the rest have and that apparently includes wolfballs.

nor should you… it would be like trying to remove ants from your yard by picking at them with a pair of tweezers. Which is why I am still a fan of the self moderation system that reddit and others were originally designed to use.

But I accept its pointless to whine about it since none of us are a lemmy developer. It is just a habit I started about 13 years ago. ;]

I have to basically accept that I’m an administrator now meaning i must allow speech to be free even if i disagree, it’s why i started freeforum

Why not apply some economic overhead to people who generate admin overhead? Like if mods get banny, slow down their iphones etc…

It needs to be free speech but also we let mods run their rooms how they like, if no one responds to their content or joins their room thats on them
