No one should be turned away because their way of life is some how less than a site admin believes is ok.
This is the attitude that has lead to the corporate big tech Oligarchs to believe they can rule over the masses. Tell them which opinion is ok.

Bans generally come from trying to trick admins not from opinions and are often reversed.

Lemmy guys make the base software. I also contribute to it. They are a communist community that is extremely easy to get banned on. We try to allow as much speech as practically possible here. So some of our two user bases don’t get along.

I am quite bemused why people in america are becoming superficially “communist”, i understand the obcene wealth polarization problems that have recently got worse, but i saw emerging in the 90s. Generations before grew up understanding the waking nightmare of communism. I have stood in the cells where real torture took place under a communist regime. I can see all around the state of mental breakdown younger generations seem to be engulfed by. People don’t seem to read much any more, don’t seem to know about history. I suspect it will all play out this year as markets are at very high risk of a megacrash.
