I’m so glad to hear that this is something actually being thought about. It hurts extra because I know that the cases of false reports will then take resources away from cases that may be urgent. I don’t intend to dump emotional info but I genuinely feel that this affected my self-concept as a whole and still have an issue with presuming my own guilt. I’m still trying to take my time to build my own concept from reality and not the false reality others tried to impart on me. It sucks because these systems of believing reporters are of course better than ignorance. However, if we continue with this route of handling justice it will turn to case-by-case deliberation, which can be extremely difficult and then harmful biases can come into play.

I’d also argue as someone thats experienced schooling more recently than many other Lemmy users, the methodology of bullying has changed. My parents always told stories of being physically assaulted by other kids as a form of bullying. My experience was being falsely reported for all sorts of crimes, funnily enough only to the school and never to actual authorities who could properly prove my innocence. Being accused of having and sharing drugs as well as death threats over anonymous messaging platforms is still most definitely bullying, though the style of violence and persuasion have changed.

how does this affect how/where you work or gain an income?

very different social media but I recently got banned from Instagram and the reason they provided was me evading a ban, meanwhile I had ONE account 6 years ago that lurked and followed family members and AFAIK hasn’t been banned

if naming a common chemical that can cause poisoning immediately makes your mind go to suicide methods, dont go to the communities that name common chemicals

Nudity and sex can be turned off, and its effective. The only exception would be some very revealing clothing in some clubs, if that is stressful to you. Combat and looting are like… a VERY significant part of the game but as mentioned by another reply its not all FPS combat. Much of the fighting in my most recent playthrough was quickhacking and swords. There’s quite a bit of conversation in the game, with many quest objectives in the short-term being “meet with this person and talk at this club.” The dialogue options for the most part don’t change the end result, and any skill-checks that check your stats will provide you with a small amount of extra info or banter rather than changing the course of the whole story. I never played with many mods, except for one time when a gun I was really fond of decided to vanish. I hacked it back into the game with a mod and that was helpful, so you may want to keep a mod like that in your back pocket in case of glitches like that. I had an incredible time overall, with this being the first truly open-world game with RPG elements that I actually enjoyed. Cried at the ending I got on both of my playthroughs, was a really fun experience through and through.
