In retrospect, the womanizing is a bit cringe-worthy and over the top, the rest holds up well.
Canadian dollar, and no variable rate for residential electricity. Pick a time, it will be $0.096.
My math may be off, I’m definitely not at my best right now.
So gas costs about $4.90/gal local currency where I live, and electricity costs about $0.096. Assuming everything you calculated is correct, and we ignore environmental impact differences (which is substantial here since electricity where I live is almost completely renewable), your setup would cost a quarter as much while electric vs. gas here.
Based on local prices, your two numbers for comparison are 31.7 miles per electricity dollar vs. 7.6 miles per local gasoline dollar.
I will certainly get dinged for cold weather which, based on the commonly accepted metric for older electric vehicles, is about half the range, so it will only be twice as cost-effective during those periods.

I don’t know a lot about recreational drugs or street drugs, but aren’t they made less pure at the final destination?
Edit: very cursory reading puts cocaine at around 65% pure, which means about $600 per ounce?

There is a lot more spurious communication these days, mostly because communication is so easy. I’m not assigning good or bad to this, it can be a tool for either. But Marcus wrote Meditations about 2000 years ago, and it at least obliquely touches upon habits and forming them.
First, this study is about UBI, which isn’t about removing the need to work, per se, but about making that need less than how shitty some jobs are. So a job that many find unpleasant would still be attractive to many people for the exact reasons they are right now.
Now, in your utopian references, you talk about jobs with meaning beyond the financial. Why wouldn’t providing and maintaining spaces for people to live and work in a safe and healthy environment, such as one with properly maintained plumbing, not be fulfilling in itself, without some fetish to add incentive?
I doubt most plumbers have scat fetishes. They just don’t care about getting shit on their hands as much as the average person and are happy to take your money for a job not everyone would be willing to do.
As a person who tends to come from the technical side, this doesn’t surprise me. Without a deep understanding of the subject, how would you come up with an accurate formula or algorithm to meet your needs? And with lighting in a physical space, that would be an arts major, not a math or computing major.
Most of my best work (which I’ll grant is limited) came from working with experts in their field and producing systems that matched their perspectives. I don’t think this diminishes his accomplishments, bit rather emphasizes the importance of seeking out those experts and gaining an understanding of the subject matter you’re working with to produce better results.
This could be the opening shot on CEO season.
You’re asking for a lot of deep thought from young people who are lashing out in pain or anger and frustration.
That’s why I find it funny. It would be like halving the resolution in a closeup of a massive, erect cock. No one would be confused about what they were looking at and their attention would be focused on it due to the resolution change.
I didn’t say this was an effective way to solve the problem, nor do I think the other poster’s assertion is accurate.
Another factor to consider is dehumanizing people is often the first step in justifying atrocities against them, such as the murder of this doubtless terrible CEO, and that has an impact on both the person doing the dehumanizing and the person or persons being dehumanized.
The usual impetus for slaying the dragon is to stop it from eating people.
This piece can only land on half the squares of this board. Assuming each one represents a drug, that’s another reason it’s good to be king (or queen).
Edit: I thought this was memes, not anarchychess, so I guess anything goes?
