I’m using an outdated Samsung headset with the windows mixed reality portal. It’s UI is so far superior to Oculus I have I may repair it for another decade rather than upgrade.

I see. I’ll be more careful running epic.
Interesting. Sounds like I could play everything I like except Rivals.
Interesting. What about Epic? (I don’t like them but free games are free games and I have a lot)
VR and steam, for now.

Que? You can run all you want they will still be around. You gotta bully them or they will only come back like a mint plant. Banning isn’t bullying, it’s a half measure that shields cowards and angers victims which creates more problems than it solves.
I am painfully aware of it and am also aware that’s it’s very easy to use that specific justification to become intolerant yourself.
The best way to deal with cruel authoritarians is not to ban but to bully them into the shoes of those they hate. You can’t bully them if you ban them, they will just go elsewhere, isolate, then try to expand like they always do once they have a group they can rally.
Unpopular opinion, hate speech is an unfortunate but necessary part of free speech that should be defended, and regulated, in the name of free speech. Yes this can include anti semitism, Islamophobia, racism, and sexism but it also includes ability to freely criticize political groups, religions, corporations, the rich, the powerful, and lets people speak their minds without worrying about unjust retribution.
In this spirit, I say let the communities stay but keep the politically charged users from admin positions.
I feel like reddit really went to shit when free speech came under attack by aggressive Trumpers and reactionary Liberals and it escalated so much. Like I’ve gotten banned for playing devil’s advocate and politely going against the crowd just to spur smarter discussions. Censoring groups for opinions is a slippery slope that promotes anti intellectualism. Now people can’t even talk about Luigi.
Sure the Nazi bar problem is a problem but it’s also like, would you rather them drink where you can see them and call them out or not? They’re going to exist whether you like them or not and they won in America because they own almost all the media but like, you’re lib leaning, follow the damn art of war and learn to control, not just ban your enemy. Banning them creates more problems than it solves and just incites them to do it back however they can. It’s Karma.
They’re legally strong-arming their way into dominating vr and enshitifying it for profit. The future of VR technology that is actually good is not Anerican.
