Just gonna say, as a Catholic, He never sends anyone to Hell, they send themeselves to Hell. Furthermore, the whole “Hell is the worst pain you can imagine” immediately makes one think Of a torture chamber. That isn’t neccessarily what Hell is. Hell is simply a separation from God. It is being alone and miserable that is thgreatest pain.

The whole idea of God sending people to infinite torture because man is a depraved, wicked thing is a very harmful calvinistic idea.

Not trying to be a troll. I just want to set the records straight.

  • Hey, I’m not sure why we are over analyzing Helix’s message. I’d be interested in the connections you made between covid and digital privacy. It kinda sounds like your saying lack of digital privacy led to the pandemic. I don’t think your saying that. Would you by any chance be referencing the tracking violations by the cdc? Or maybe that China’s zero covid policy and tracking? Maybe I’ve got you wrong but those are the only connections that I have made.

P.S. Sorry if you have already answered a similar question. I didn’t see it in the text thread.

  • I have looked at it. It looks really cool! However, it does not have the user base of signal and does not have an easy unboarding for beginners. If I’m going to switch a person to an encrypted instant messenger I would do Signal. It is by far the simplest and the most widely used. The more widely it is used the easier it is to sell it to people. For the most secure I go with Session. But I do agree that SimpleX is on to something.

  • So I’m not from California but aren’t they already struggling to supply the existing grid with power because of the heat waves? I think they may want to invest that money into making better power sources rather than ways to deplete the grid even more. Just my two cents.

  • I don’t know, I’ve been on their Discord channel from the early stages and they seem pretty legit. Mind you I could be wrong, we all get taken into scams every now and then. I just got into their alpha testing so I will provide some feedback on how well it works. Honestly, it’s fixing a problem that shouldn’t be there. All of these walled garden messengers can’t stand the test of time. We have to switch to something more federated like xmpp or something else. Even signal, while awesome, can’t communicate with anything else. We need some good, secure, FOSS, instant messaging protocols.
