We wouldn’t need to intimidate people if we weren’t all up in the business of other random countries, constantly inciting coups, etc.
I’m mtset! I mostly use the Fediverse from Mastodon but beehaw specifically is special enough to get its own account from me.

Personally, I do not think that we should be the police of the world, and I don’t want to spend my tax dollars on it.
Poor data management practices on the part of this admin.
I honestly don’t think that most people understand how incredibly bloated the US military budget is. Even if you accept the premise that we have to have the biggest military in the world, so much money is spent on overseas military bases that don’t meaningfully contribute to our national defense. We have >750 military bases around the world so that we can intimidate other countries into doing what we want, which is both wasteful and evil. Learn more at Al Jazeera
Bill Nye (the Science Guy). Total jerk, unfortunately.
I have five other Fediverse accounts, mostly on some flavor of Mastodon :) Most notably, @noracodes@tenforward.social.
Sure, but “our city handles homelessness poorly” isn’t a good argument for not improving public transit either!
Eeh? I’m a woman, I don’t have this problem on transit at all, either in Chicagoland or in SF. First of all, witnessing open drug use isn’t, like, the end of the world; it might make you uncomfortable, but it’s not dangerous.
Being harassed is a real fear, but I find that I’m more often harassed while I’m just walking around than in a bus, train, or the muni, and when I’m on board transit there are cameras and an operator to potentially step in!
Public transit is a public good. If seeing poor people and drug users makes us uncomfortable, the solution is to address the root causes of poverty and addiction, not to force poor people off of public transit.
Good timing on their part; I just rejoined Tumblr in order to reconnect with some friends and this is just the push I needed to delete my account again.
This seems unnecessarily snarky.
Wow, yeah, that sounds like a really frustrating situation. I wish you all the luck in figuring it out.
Thanks!! I love her, very powerful vibes :)
Hi! I’m not super deep into the furry community but I do know a lot of furries and I’m in the process of getting my fursona some better-developed art, so I guess I count?
I’ve been thinking a lot about how polyamory plays into my queerness - I’m lucky enough to have significantly expanded my local chosen family since Pride in 2021, and over the last year our housing situation has gotten much more stable.
I think that I’m almost more committed to polyamory than I am to bisexuality, as a label. I certainly face more problems as a polyamorous person than as a bi one.
Huh? ChromeOS, a couple gigs of RAM, basically no storage, and some crappy Celeron. I used it basically the same as I use my Pinebook Pro now. I’m actually pro netbook, if we’re going to live in a SaaS hellscape we can at least get cheap laptops as a result.
These days I also have a T480.
This is really sad. I had a Chromebook for my entire highschool career and into college, and only got rid of it after I accidentally placed it on a hot stove 💀
This is the difference between you and people who care about their privacy, then. I would happily talk about that to someone I trusted, but not a random person on the street, and certainly not someone whose interests I know don’t align with mine, which is mostly true of every company on Earth. Not to mention that any of these companies could be subpoenaed for this information at any time, which would be an issue if the law changed to make something I do illegal.
