  • Thanks for the link - I visited that town last year and was quite surprised how nice that amphitheater is.

Church and state should be kept separate. We’re seeing wayyy too much mixing of the two lately. But still, the best solution is the one that works best for everyone, not just the majority. In this case, that would seem to be allowing everyone equal and paid access to the facility or nobody gets access.

History and tradition should obviously not be the entirety of the decision making process and recent events should outweigh things that happened 100 years ago. Otherwise, we block all progress and if that were a good idea, we might still have slavery.

The idealist in me would hope that these people could work something out without getting lawyers involved.

    All of this IMO, clearly.

  • Hi author! I’m Dad. :)

Thanks for joining the conversation. I thought it too much to hope you’d be on Lemmy but glad you are! Thanks for adding those bits about https, but I was saddened to see that 90% of the conversation around this centered on that one side topic.

I’ve only read the TOC for your book so far but it seems very much what we need to see more people adopt self-hosting so thank you very much for putting in the time and effort!

  • I would have sworn this was posted before but it seems not.

Fun tidbit from the wikipedia page:

In the original version of the script, J.D. successfully blows up Westerburg High, and the final scene features a surreal prom gathering of all the students in heaven. Executives at New World Pictures agreed to finance the film, but they disliked the dark ending and insisted that it be changed.
