I wish that I could build spaghetti bases, they look way better than a main bus. Sadly if I try to do it I’ll eventually get pissed at the disorder, and the “goddammit I need to pull a belt from A to B but I bloody can’t because everything is a mess here” following it.

The fun thing about buses and trains is that they allow you to have little pockets of spaghetti within your overall more organized system.

I always start by building a main bus, then, well, engines are already produced here, so I might as well and oh look, I already have a supply of iron here, so there’s no reason to not aaaaand the spag strikes again

Dosh Doshington’s sushi belt is my favorite for this - he’s being rather disciplined because he’s on camera but there are a lot of times he compromises his initial plan “Well the sulfuric acid is right there… there’s no real reason for me to not just pipe it to the battery assemblers.”

I found a way on how to combat this effectively. I always build the blueprints for my factories in the lab and calculate everything with the calculator. This means that its a hell lot of effort, but it means that I can’t just grab everything of from somewhere else. Also I only have ironplates, copper plates, steel, stone and coal in my main bis.
