I’m sick of hearing the whining of “gifted” children. Like, why are they even “gifted” to begin with? What… they remember the names of shapes and count well and we’re supposed to believe they’re the second coming of Albert Einstein?

Can imagine the type of person this could rest? Imagine growing up and being told your special and better then the other kids when all they can do is learn faster than everyone else. There just lucky, that’s what gets me. It’s like being praised for being born rich. It’s like if we lived in a world where anyone was in a wheelchair and they could walk.

As someone with interactual disabilities I hate hearing them complain. Like really? you you were praised growing up and did well academically? Aww, I cry for you😥

In what situation are you putting yourself where you have gifted children complaining in your presence? And what do they complain about?

I see people complain about this constantly online tbh. Not so much in person, though. I see a lot of “woe is me” post from former “gifted kids” online complaining that they aren’t making boatloads of cash or some nonsense.

I did well in school, myself, but I didn’t have any people throwing out terms like “gifted” at me. And when I graduated and I was miffed that I was making no money…I complained for a bit, sure. But I put in the work and worked to put myself on a better career trajectory after doing my own research. I didn’t just sit there and complain endlessly about how being called “gifted” ruined my life or some nonsense like other people do online. It gets tiring because people seem to think they are entitled to just have everything without putting in any work just because they were labeled “gifted”. Then they blame everyone else for their own inaction.

It’s not like it happens every other post, but it’s often enough. People like to throw out the word “gifted” as a buzzword when they complain about their lives, as if this magical designation means that they were somehow entitled to a certain lifestyle without putting in any effort.
