I don’t have time right now to write the migration scripts but I bought a new cool secret domain and I think i’m gonna move to it eventually.
People keep thinking this is a furry website.
wolfballs will forward to the new address automatically so web users won’t have to do anything.
lemmur app users will have to enter a new url. old logins will still work.
I have a couple things on my to do list I want to do this year,
-
Create a Pinephone app. This will be made in kirigami a QT framework. Will support other instances of course.
-
Create a swag shop. Hopefull allow select users to sell their stuff in it. This will require hosting a bitcoin/etherium payment processor. It must be censor proof from the ground up. I really don’t want to write my own that could take forever. But I will write my own shop and probably take payments with this payment processor https://github.com/btcpayserver/btcpayserver
-
Host pleroma to go hand in hand with wolfballs to help grow both instances.
-
Move to new domain name.
Just some thoughts I have to help grow the platform. I’ve got some work stuff I have to focus on right now but these are my goals. So if I’m not shit posting a bunch i’m probably working on these or day job stuff.
Monero or PirateChain?
I never heard of PirateChain until now, so I skimmed the white paper and it looks pretty cool! I don’t fully understand how the ZCash zero-knowledge transaction system works, admittedly, but it always bothered me that privacy was optional. From my reading it seems like, among other things, Pirate Cash is basically ZCash but with privacy always on, right?
For now I think I’ll stick to Monero, just for the sake of it being battle-tested by criminal groups. It’s sort of like alternative anonymity networks like i2p in my view. They may be superior in every way, but until someone is willing to put their neck on the line betting on that tech, I can’t really be sure how well it works if only because I don’t have the technical background to consider all possible weaknesses to the new system. I still might buy in though, I got into Monero way too late but I’m in now and holding on tight.
