So I’m in my deathbed right now, fever and chills and pain everywhere but especially on my legs. Why? Whatever I caught seems to be attacking my throat. Is the leg pain directly caused by the virus, or is it a defense mechanism of my body? Thanks

The bones in your upper legs are one of those (together with your hips) that have a persisting high bone marrow density, which produces a high amount of white blood cells during infection. This means that the bone marrow is populated by a much higher number of cells, which creates “pressure”.

Full-body aches due to shivering from a high body temperature. However there can be other serious reasons, for those you should consult a doctor.

My muscles ache every time I run a fever. No matter how I adjust my body I’m in pain. I don’t know how common it is but people usually look at me funny when I say it’s the worst part about getting sick for me. I always assumed it had something to do with my muscles still recovering from the gym when the fever shuts my body down.

It could be related to more blood flow to the brain and less to extremities.

… I am not a doctor. Recommend asking a doctor.
