Literally US doctrine since WWII. Germans whole strategy in the Battle of the Bulge was to attack while it was cloudy out, because if the sky was clear they were fucked. They got fucked as soon as the clouds cleared.
Honestly, they were already mostly fucked before hand since a lot of their armored units were either surrounded or all of the bridges along their intended routes were blown up. The air superiority just sealed their fates
This is how I felt playing StarCraft and just spamming the big carriers. Air superiority is also ground superiority.

The ground is generally found under the air, so when you have total air superiority, you actually just have total superiority.
You can’t win a war from the air… but it makes it a whole lot fuckin’ easier.
