“Soft power” is even more important during times of sharp words and military bluster, but the cultural appeal of American culture and ideas has waned in China.
It’s funny because even as a kid I would watch the news and think “lol USA sux”, when given the right rebellious priming as a youth their propaganda has the opposite effect.
Same here even as a kid I thought it was odd that they only talked about American deaths in wars, etc. Kids have a great bs filter though, it’s stamped out through our propaganda education system
I was super fortunate to have good teachers and parents, like my mom would complain about biased curriculum and say “Don’t let school get in the way of your education.” I thought it was genius and that she came up with it but I learned much later it’s a Mark Twain quote lol.
