It takes me 5 minutes to set up my $100 popup tent which seems to be made of more sturdy material.
one of the best pieces of advice I got about camping was, do a practice run setting up the tent in your yard or a nearby park before the day you drive to the campsite
If you bring a couple tarps and a liberal supply of paracord, you can build just about any shelter you can imagine.
Can always count on a hexbear to bring their liberal supply.
Have a backup chair, even if it’s just a bucket. Even if you bought the best folding camping chair it’s still going to break when you need it most. Also you’re the hero of the trip if someone else’s chair breaks
I got my parents to set up a tent in the living room for a day or two as a kid and they gave it to me when I moved out
Also a good idea to spray a hose over the top of the tent to check if it is properly waterproof or not.
You know you can just buy a regular tent right?
Sleeping in something other than the $3,000 tent is not an option.
You buy the type of handmade tents they use to climb Mt. Everest for less than the cyber tent. It’s such an amazing scam. Almost gotta hand it to 'em.
For $3000 I could buy a whole top tier camping set that would last me several decades. Outside of “you can sleep on Mount Everest”, I can’t imagine what functionality a $3000 tent could include that a $300 tent lacks. This is better than them selling the spare tyre as a $1250 add-on which takes up half the truck bed and has been out of stock for weeks: https://shop.tesla.com/product/cybertruck-spare-tire-_-tool-kit
selling the spare tyre as a $1250 add-on which takes up half the truck bed and has been out of stock for weeks:
how did I not hear about this one
And you’d better hope it comes back in stock soon because the entire wheel snaps off if you turn on a crazy incline like this: https://i.redd.it/pqd0topik07d1.jpeg

I’ve paid $160 for a tent that we once used to fix my mother’s volvo’s transmission because it was raining and the car fit into the tent
The repair took less time than this guy’s attempt
But you can “Engage Tent Mode on your vehicle’s touchscreen for an enhanced camping experience”!
100%. I don’t think I’ve spent more than $2K, let alone $3K on my family’s current camping gear from tent to cooler and everything in between.
“I sleep in a bed with my wife”
Yeah, but CyberTent
Also judging from the pictures and general weather trends he could have literally not and just slept on the ground and been better off.
And before somebody says “what if it rained” that probablly would have voided the bazingatrucks warranty.
Just get so drunk you can’t walk then pass out in the passenger seat with the door half open like a normal person
Isn’t that a DUI? I’ve read that being drunk in a car trying to sleep it off qualifies as that.
Car counts as a dwelling if you’re not in the driver seat and you don’t have your keys on you. At least here.
Also i have never heard of anyone getting busted for that while camping in a spot that’s normally for camping and I’ve had cops come “inspect” our campsite before. I don’t doubt that pigs will do it anyway and I’m sure it doesn’t apply as nicely to people without homes.
In my state the police will come after you for having a few beers in a state park campground regardless of vehicle, and would likely try to tack on dui as well if given the opportunity. Most people can and do get away with it but one complaint or you pissed off the wrong piggy and they’re gonna kick you out, ticket you, turn over your belongings, and god help you if they find anything else (weed, other drugs, anything really)
Only if you have access to your keys. If you throw the keys away or give them to someone else then you’re good. At least in my jurisdiction, might be different in other places.
Depends on melanin levels and whether or not your local government would prefer you to just fuck off and die.
But not so drunk that you shit on the car.
I do a lot of 4 season camping, and invested in a nice canvas tent. It was expensive for a tent, but still like 1/8 the price of this thing. Plus, my wife and I can get it up in 10 minutes and it’s survived for years in 60 mph winds, days of straight rain, snow, and 100° heat without a problem and it’s got 8’ of headroom. What a fucking scam this is. Perfect for the Tesla crowd.
I kinda want to get into winter camping but the winters are pretty deathly up here
I finally got a new 2 person tent though and did some fall camping last year and it was so comfortable and easy to set up, I’m never going back to the old shitty tent (even tho its way bigger)
It’s definitely a special challenge and you need the right gear, but wow can it be rewarding. Waking up in the middle of the night and going out of the tent to see a full blizzard was one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve ever had. The absolute silence was incredible.
Yeah, nothing like sitting around a campfire with your girl as snow falls around you and you drink a few beers before keeping each other warm for the night. Snow camping is beautiful.
Look into hot tents (tents made to be used with a woodstove)
Canvas wall tents really are crazy how comfortable and easy they are. (Except moving them, those sumbitches are heavy)
Winter camping is amazing. Obviously you need to know what you’re doing and to be prepared but some of my fondest moments of camping were during the winter.
The fact that the first picture is already an hour in:
It was a real Rollercoaster reading the second post that said 1.5 hours later, thi king it was 30 minutes after the first, then reading the third post saying another hour later and realizing this dweed spent 4 hours trying and failing to make shelter.
Literally lean a bunch of sticks against a tree and you’d sleep better for less effort.
Me: Sets up an old surplus french F1 tent in five mins
Doohickey driver: My beep boop brokeaded! I dont wanna ride my bike tomorrow WAAaAAaaaaH
My beep boop brokead - I don’t mean maybe
These things really cost 3 grand? You can literally get bougie ass clamping tents for half the price
$300 tent for a 20+ year old car wins again

Imagine if it rains. Warrant void on truck AND tent
I really liked the punch line at the end.
I drove the PCH solo twice, setting up my $150 tent at a new campsite stop each night in five minutes, driving a '94 Pathfinder that cost me less than his tent.

What saddle bags do you have? I really want some but don’t want to dig through Amazon garbage or spend 1k on them

The bazinga truck probably sucks at towing so you either need to use this gizmo pod or sleep on the ground like a plebian
I will never understand truck tents. Tents are awesome, lower cost, standalone structure. There’s a lot to love about tents. The downsides are, no amenities like A/C or plumbing, and you are on the ground (relevant if there are lions or whatever to worry about I guess).
If you have a truck tent, you give up lower cost and standalone structure. I guess you might get A/C as a benefit but you’ll be breathing exhaust from your truck (assuming it’s a non-bazinga truck). Since it’s not standalone, if you need to run into town for hot dogs or drive to a trail head, you have to pack up your tent. Also even with a large sized truck bed it’s a pretty small footprint as far as tents go.
And if you are committed to having a camping/vehicle combo, I bet you can get a used pop-up trailer for not much more than a bazinga tent that solves all these issues.
I just put the seats down in my car to make a bed and sleep in it, if alone. Extremely easy setup and can leave and return quickly if needed.
I don’t understand the need for the car tent and I hate sleeping on the ground, unless it’s warm and sand, so I skip tents altogether. But if I go with a girlfriend or something then we take a tent.
