I didn’t know that was a serious condition! I’m shocked!
Thats i always use the “spocker” instead
whoa
What is it, like, a muscle spasm?
It’s a kind of tendon problem where the finger gets stuck in the bent position and then snaps straight.
oh wait, really?
my left ring finger does that when I’m chopping vegetables 🤔
Actually yes really. Bring it up with your doctor.
The finger has a tendon that runs the length and is kept close to the bones with bands called pulleys (think like a fishing pole if that is familiar). Your tendon can forms nodes that then do not fit well through the pulley causing either pain or restricted range of motion (or both).
Details may be wrong (not a medical professional, but have had trigger finger)
Thanks for the PSA
Symptoms of trigger finger may progress from mild to severe and include:
Finger stiffness, particularly in the morning. A popping or clicking sensation as the finger moves. Tenderness or a bump in the palm at the base of the affected finger. Finger catching or locking in a bent position, which suddenly pops straight. Finger locked in a bent position.
Trigger finger can affect any finger, including the thumb. More than one finger may be affected at a time, and both hands might be involved. Triggering is usually worse in the morning.

I have a wierd thing with the thumb side of my palm where it swells up and hurts if i put pressure on my palm
It doesn’t limit my mobility or anything but i’ve had it since i sprained it 2 months ago at the gym
Might be more than a sprain. I had a FOOP incident (fall onto outstretched palm, a common enough cause of injury to get it’s own acronym) and an x-ray turned up nothing, so it was assumed to be a strain until it was still hurting under certain loads a month later and they sent me for a cat scan - tiny fracture of one of the wrist bones that was hidden on the 2d scans.
I know it’s not an option in most of the world but you should always get sprains checked out if you can - there can easily be a small break that causes problems down the road.
