I say that because the effect of China’s decrease in extreme poverty was largely responsible for the increase in living conditions across the globe on average, and yet that very same thing is famously claimed as a success of modern capitalism (looking at you, Pinker).

Weird how the capitalism in China improved conditions and yet the capitalism everywhere else in the world did not. I wonder what is specifically different about Chinese capitalism. Maybe other capitalists should emulate it since it’s clearly a better form of capitalism producing far better results.
