    They could go full deep packet inspection like other authoritarian regimes. But otherwise its gonna be tough.

    You need to have a phone that doesnt read your screen though. Iphones eg read everything you do and probably share that data. No idea about android.

        The Lemmy devs will have to implement it as a feature. One that is, totally accidentally, really unreliable and very easy to turn off.

    The unfortunate thing is that those who want privacy can get it online. It’s not particularly difficult.

    I think this scanning should just be allowed, not required. That would trigger big tech to do their big tech thing: scan it all. And niche apps that 99% of people don’t use anyways will still have the privacy some look for.

    Effectively putting those safety measures up for 99% of people, while still allowing for individual freedom and privacy for those who choose to exercise those rights
