Isn’t this body meant to be suffused with ancient biological wisdom or something? I know losing weight is hard, but come on, just because I didn’t ride a bicycle since seven days ago does not mean we don’t need those leg muscles any more. There’s plenty of fat left. Look, it’s that flabby bit right there. Use that up first.
I’ve added flax seeds to my diet, maybe that will help.
I believe the body uses up muscles (the physical muscle tissue) first when exercising. You need to exercise for over half an hour (or something like that) before the body starts using fat reserves.
I know what you mean though! If I don’t exercise for a few days and it feels like I haven’t for weeks!
Just a bad day, I guess. The whole “diet and exercise” thing is still pretty new to me, I’ve never really tried them both at the same time before the past few weeks.
Understadable, it can be challenging! My advice, other than to keep at it long term, is don’t stress about doing it ‘right’! The best thing is to have that regular exercise in your life. It doesn’t matter if you have on-off spells, just focus on getting yourself going again after the off spells and make a routine if that fits your personality.
Don’t count calories as a way to see if your doing well enough (it can be handy for some people to do as a means of organising their health drive though), and don’t judge your achievement on your weight - muscle weighs more than fat so be sure to take that into account if you do weigh yourself regularly. If you need a measure, use the amount of time spent exercising, whether light or more strenuous, keeping it going will be the best benefit.
You can also be fit and healthy without being skinny, slim or toned! And lastly, try to find that exercise you can get whilst enjoying yourself.
Hope I’m not teaching you everything you already know!! :)
Well, thanks for the advice. I have indeed been counting the calories, slowly losing weight, and bicycling in the hills every Saturday with lesser workouts through the week. I guess it’s been seven weeks now, and it’s done me some good. This was the first week I didn’t feel stronger than the week before; it was bound to happen eventually. Eh well, long way to go yet.
Psyllium husks are a wonderfull helper for me.
