Sounds like Switzerland tbh. It’s a reactionary disaster, hiding behind some pretend “neutrality” esthetic, direct democracy, and overall just being small and less noticeable.
I must admit I’ve never properly learnt about Switzerland because of the “uwu so cute we don’t fight anyone” attitude it’s marketed to the west.
I was fortunate enough to talk to a genuinely wonderfully based Swiss girl on reddit a while back and she was a leftist but admitted she knew nothing about communism bar the propaganda she’s being fed and we had really good conversations around it amongst other things and she was like “well you can’t really argue with that”. Her description of gen X and boomer culture of Switzerland was very damning.
After living across the border from Switzerland for a few years I’ve come to learn a decent amount about the culture and the way things work. I’ve said before elsewhere that it’s a lot of what American libertarians or even ancaps dream about. There’s just enough laws and rules and tradition for an orderly society and that’s about it. Everything is about how much money you earn, can spend, can hide away, etc., and of course cantonal and national pride (even though even many Swiss say it’s not a nation so much as a project). That whole “uwu so cute we don’t fight anyone” neutrality sham is just cover for the capitalists to profit off both sides of a war.
That whole Swiss boomer culture even has a name, Bünzli.

Thank you for the insight 😊
It doesn’t surprise me one bit what you’ve mentioned above.
