Maybe I’m overly sensitive but sarcasm against something that didn’t need it at all just seemed to twist the mood on a post that should warrant some somber respect.

They’re not sarcastic about these circumstances, but about how we as a society treat the people affected by them.

Though it’s fair if you don’t want to focus on that in this context.

That’s exactly what my thing is here, indeed. It just felt weird. Imagine saying that at a funeral e.g.

Everyone deals with things differently. My grandfathers funeral was essentially a party in his memory. You’re absolutely allowed to feel the way you do, but so is everyone else.

            I suppose that’s true.

And Jesus, the amount of down votes just for voicing my feelings. Love it when online communities spin the wheel on comment karma. Nowhere am I being rude or anything like that. 🙄 Sometimes I feel like I’m back on Reddit, you know what I mean?

Look back on your comments in this thread.

Every single sentence peppered with “me” and “I”

Your points are not about the subject at hand, they’re just all “me me me me and my self-righteousness”

              That’s probably why!

I’m surprised people think I’m focused on myself when the only reason I’m referencing “me” is to say that the reaction I had is coming from “my” feelings of respect towards the matter at hand. Are people just word-counting "me"s and "I"s to gather an opinion when they should focus on what I’m saying? That’s crazy though.

I don’t at all see how what I’m saying should even get close to having anything to do with my self-righteousness. I’m just baffled.

But this is what Reddit Lemmy is sometimes. 👍 People will interpret things so off sometimes and then others see the few down votes, then just jump on the train without having a discussion or think about why they’re down voting. Follow that herd! 🐑

                    lol.

First, I’m not trying to get people to like me. Second of all that was after they showed themselves to be that.

                    🤷‍♂️ Just calling them out.
