Scout Motors’ plan to eschew traditional dealerships and sell EVs directly to consumers is running into legal trouble. A group of Volkswagen and Audi
It astonishes me that a bunch of states have laws forcing consumers to let a dealer clip the ticket on the sale of a new vehicle, and nobody seems particularly bothered.
I do hope for some change in the car market, because my parents just went through the process of buying a newer vehicle recently and boy was pretty much every dealership/used car lot trip just a psychological test that felt so unnecessary. They ended up buying off of one of those no-haggle, we deliver the car to you sites and it was overall less stressful.
I just put down my $100 reservation. If the dealers are scared, that can only be a good thing.
VW & Audi dealers are going to regret this lawsuit. I hope VW takes this all the way to the Supreme Court. Chances are the dealers will lose. And that will totally change the entire car market.
My dad was a car salesman… Fuck car salesman.
Neat, hope they can sell direct in every state soon. Too bad they don’t start production for a couple of years.
