And in some other timeline I was:
I’ve mentioned it before, but damned if they didn’t wind up casting surprisingly close on looks. Almost didn’t happen, though, because Anson Mount initially auditioned for Captain Lorca.
However, I think we know whose hair looks better.
Damit, I just got strange looks for laughing like an idiot at this … I really have to rewatch ‘Dracula:Dead And Loving It’ again, it’s been years since I last saw it - Leslie Neilson is one of the patron Saints of Memes.
You’re welcome. I stand firm that this parody holds at least as well as Robin Hood: Men in Tights. Peter MacNicol holds his own against Nielson as Renfield.
There goes my afternoon of quiet contemplation … I’ll be snickering and smiling for the rest of the day now. What a terrible world it would be without slapstick comedy from the 80s and 90s.
It would have been a shame to lose such a good actor to a show like Discovery.
And then my hair was like
This is pretty much how I’ve been feeling since Jan. 20th.
… of 201
67.Edit: wrong year
His hair is my favorite character.
I know we only have the one episode, but honestly Jeffrey Hunter could have really grown into that role nicely if he hadn’t turned down the second pilot. Shame he didn’t live long enough to revisit Trek I some way. Interesting What-If there.
It might have saved his life, too - if he were playing Capt. Pike he likely wouldn’t have had time to do the role where he had the accident that probably led to his death months later.
I like to think that his memory is honoured or respected in some way because of fans that keep remembering his time and what he did. There is a lot of what-if out there … but at the very least, lots of people remember his name, his image and his story because he is part of a franchise we all know and enjoy.
They’re both quite handsome.
Yeah, I wouldn’t mind looking like either of them.
Which star trek shows are both dudes from?
The very first Christopher Pike was played by Jeffery Hunter in 1965 in Star Trek The Original Series … famously known as the first Star Trek captain ever before William Shatner … saddest bit of Trek trivia is that Jeffery Hunter died at the age of 42 suddenly from a movie stunt accident in 1969 (died months after the event at his home because of a suspected head injury from the stunt). He never got to see the fame of what became of his Christopher Pike character
The modern Christopher Pike is currently portrayed by Anson Mount in the Star Trek series - Strange New Worlds
You are absolutely the best! Thank you for answering my question so thoroughly.
No problem … I figured out a long time ago that not everyone, everywhere all the time know every bit of Trek (or even movie) trivia … some know lots, some are encyclopedic, some know little and some know none. So it’s always good practice to just treat every question honestly and answer thoughtfully.
They’re all good Pikes, Brent.
i misread that as “spikes”
Aye, sir.
