It’s an analysis of the specifics of material conditions faced by minorities in the west, particularly in neocolonial countries like the US. It’s mostly an academic marxist or post-marxist thing, but the information they publish is helpful for pointing out how exactly the hegemonic power of the bourgeoise and their reactionary followers continue to keep racial minorities impoverished and imprisoned. It’s good stuff to cite when conservatives think minorities exaggerate how much harder their lives are or when libs think they aren’t racist.

Reactionaries hate it because it forces them to think critically about their place in continuing these systems.

    • Seems like a very watered-down version of Marxism which just focuses on race rather than class as a whole (apparently it was originally inspired by Marxism, but I don’t know how many similarities there are these days), although an arbitrary right-winger ranting about it likely has no idea what it or Marxism actually is

Absolutely no idea. Can’t say I’ve ever read anything that calls itself ‘critical race theory’. When you listen to conservative politicians and talking heads, it’s clear they haven’t either.
