This would be way easier to do in the Gulf, where the water is at least much shallower. Of course, do we really want more Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida?
Fill in the gulf and give the land to northern states! We’ll call it new netherlands

Even forgetting the politics of those states. Do you really need more 110 degree summer land mass? I’m sure it’s be even worse than south Texas with more land mass and less sea breeze factored in. It’d be just horrible…

Every night obviously no, but they do add sand to many popular beaches to keep them nice and big. It’s called beach nourishment.
