There are so many podcasts out there, it’s hard to decide which to actually keep up with. I personally listen to every deprogram episode ASAP, same with probably canceled, Qanonanonymous, and the climate water project, I listen to turn leftist (excluding the debates), i listen to most of multipolarista, the socialist program, unauthorized disclosure, and knowledge fight as they come out, and I am currently going through the back catalogue of programmed to chill and the poor proles almanac. I am consider adding antifada, Dixieland of the proletariat, truanon and chapo, among others, but I don’t know if I can find the bandwidth

I listen to every episode of Deprogram, Citations Needed (for US based information), historicly, and Faith and Capital (the hosts can be a bit, uh, preachy, but it is extremely informative, especially if you were raised christian)

Oh, I forgot to list rev left. They’re great though I don’t listen to a lot of they’re episodes (like the multiple hour deep dives into not Marxist philosophy), but they’re (red menace’s) last episode on the bread book was pretty great

I used to be into Chapo, but it stopped being good. I’m trying to get into the Deprogram, but it feels not good in a similar way. Different. The Chapo vibe is way more colonialist liberal. But something about the rambling format just doesn’t work for me. I bring it up in hopes that maybe someone has a framework for analyzing what I don’t like that these 2 different groups seem to share.

Invent the Future - incredible ML podcast that goes over many different topics, often being hilarious while also being incredibly informative and heartwarming, spearheaded by some of the comrades from Proles of the Roundtable.

Proles of the Roundtable - like Invent the Future but with more people and a bigger backlog of episodes.

some that haven’t been mentioned yet… A.K. 47, Actually Existing Socialism, The Cadre Journal, Conjuncture, David Harvey Anti Capitalist Chronicles, Delete Your Account, The East is a Podcast, Eat the Rich, Economic Update, Groundings, Machete Y Mate, Milennials are Killing Capitalism, People’s History of Ideas (fav), Sip & Politic, Street Fight Radio, Tech Won’t Save Us, Working People.

Not all are strictly ML, but all are socialist and anti-imperialist.

Big fan of the deprogram, also listen to random tech podcasts. Does anyone know if any left podcasts use castopod or other fediverse platforms?

    • Multipolarista - Ben Norton covers world events.
    • Socialist Program with Brian Becker - all topics. Brian Becker is a 🐐
    • American Exception - covers the American security state.
    • People’s History of Ideas - covers the history of the Chinese revolution.
    • Programmed to Chill - deep dives into random topics. I think the host is socialist, but I’m not sure.
    • 1 Dime Radio - not explicitly ML but usually very interesting topics.
    • American Prestige - DB is a bit much sometimes but the interviews are always great. The news roundup is good, too.

For programmed to chill I think he mentioned something about reading Lenin and obviously being in support of the communist revolutions in one of the wwi podcasts, but I doubt he’s the most well read in Marxist theory.

If you listen to programmed to chill, what do you think of subliminal jihad? I thought it was kind of weird and metaphysical (with Islamic fire spirits and stuff), and when I tried to listen to them they were kind of annoying to listen to and I was just lost.

Ah, he plugs them quite a few times, like anyone who listens to his podcast obviously need to listen to them. I’m currently seven months in (started in may 2021, I’m up to December 2021). I listen to it a lot. Pls update me once you encounter them.

The thing with CTH is to not take it mega serious.

I listen to them just to riff on idiotic American politics. But… Ya know.
