German media knew about it two weeks ago and had live coverage which is odd for a ecret police operation. And there were no weapons found, nor connections to the military. In fact most of the arrested are already retired. The whole story is so bad that even Hollywood would reject it.

What do you mean no connections to the military? Some of the arrested are still in the military right now, another one was part of our special military forces.

Maybe I should have said military leadership. No connections there, neither to police leadership. So even if they manage to show up at the Reichstag with hunting rifles mounted to their rollators, police would easily arrest them. Remember that the youngest person arrested is like 60.

      there were no weapons found

Maybe it did not come up initially, but now it is comminicated that they actually possessed weapons, quote:

Bei rund 50 Objekten seien auch Waffen festgestellt worden.

Weapons were also found in about 50 objects, he said.

The rest is odd though, there has been an interview with an MP from the Left party where they discuss what you mentioned.

Its strange that they dont give any details about the weapons. Makes me think that they only found some kitchen knifes or hunting rifles.

That’s exactly what I thought whrn I read “50 weapons”. I mean anything is a weapen when used as one. 50 is way off the real number.

Even reading about it in translated Russian media it sounded like a Hollywood script. A bad script.

The thing about fiction is that it has to be written to be believable. Reality is under no such obligation.

Reminder that Hitler gained power through a similar, though much better organized executed, seizure of office. So to say “it’s happening again” is not a stretch.

People are laughing at how badly planned this was, but the very fact that they felt confident enough to even attempt it is a massive red flag. A red flag with a white circle and a black symbol in the middle, to be exact.

QAnon across the pond. Feels like Nazis round two, so good that it is being nipped in the bud.

While QAnon sadly is also getting more prevelavent in Germany, these people are all “Reichsbürger”, they believe the German Empire is still in charge and want to bring back the monarchy.

Because what could possibly be better for the people than being ruled by some inbred twats.

Fr I am ashamed I actually know people who believe Germany is not independent because the constitution is not called “constitution” (NE&UK would like to take a word) or how Poland should give back all territory to restore the 1914 borders.

Oh! These sound like our sovereign citizens. They basically insist that they have found “one weird trick” to make it so they don’t have to follow US law. Then when they break the law, they insist that the courts have no jurisdiction because of some mumbo jumbo with fringes on the flag and maritime law. It is a mix of amusing and annoying.

The people you deal with sound similar to the Reichsbürger. They also think Germany right now is not an independent state, but a company ran by the US. They have also proof. Our ID card is called “Personalausweis”, while the last part “Ausweis” is just short for ID card, or passport, the first word “Personal” can also be used for employees of a company. So check mate, the state already acknowledges that we are just a company…

Germany right now is not an independent state, but a company ran by the US

Not sure if I would call Germany a company per se. But the United States is essentially a corporate state and has occupied and to a large extent controlled the progression of Germany since the end of the war, and even more ‘wholly’ controlled since reunification. Most EU countries are controlled/ran by the US in a similar way. Some have more military, some have more corporate/financial ties. In any case, the respective leaders are still subservient to the US interests, which a layman might describe as “a company ran by the US” in contrast to a truly sovereign state with its own interests put first. It’s hardly a leap of logic on that front. Just look at the events of 2022.

To the rest of your comment…they do sound off the wall on those other things.

The fact that these right-wing extremists wanted Russia as a protecting power says it all.
