I don’t even think most people know anything about that. There were just a few articles calling the protest leader a murderous gang leader and a couple of tweets from politicians in support of the Haitian puppet gov’s repression. I didn’t hear any of my lib friends or family talking about it.
The Monroe Doctrine, the US wagged their fingers at the European colonialist powers and removed all of the European puppet governments… before promptly replacing them with puppet governments controlled by the US.
Yeah, that is utter bs. The US used it as justification to claim some colonies they wanted such as Puerto Rico, Mexico, and Cuba from weaker imperial powers like Spain and Germany, but simultaneously let their allies such as the UK, keep all their North and South American colonies.

All I heard about that in school was “the Monroe doctrine was when the US stood up against the colonial Europeans for self determination”
