That whole trial and the cultural dialogue surrounding it was such a damn circus. I didn’t care enough to keep up with the specific details nor do I really care about the well-being of two probably deranged, wealthy-beyond-belief celebrities, but people still simping for Depp I meet IRL blow my damn mind. He was so obviously such a sniveling little worm during that ordeal, treating it as if it were just another act in a movie, except I guess this time he wasn’t doing Nativeface (it’s okay because he’s 1/84 Cherokee!).
Shouldn’t have been televised. Celebrity culture won and abused women lost, and that’s the only meaningful outcome to stem from that shitty spectacle.
