Article-processing charges levied by publishers on authors have become an integral — and sometimes unpopular — part of the open-access revolution. Other options are being explored.

    I think the government of the country it was published in should host the articles, especially if tax dollars were used to generate the article.

    It wouldn’t cost more than a few million a year to do, which is a drop in the bucket in most country’s budgets.
