Stop Crying, Wipe Your Tears - Introducing…. NQ-RARBG!

Hello members of /r/Piracy,

SlideMovies presents to you NQ-RARBG (Not Quite RARBG).

The death of RARBG has been truly saddening for all of us.

We have gathered developers and have started work on a RARBG clone.

The clone aims to have all the torrents from RARBG (except XXX), and then open registrations, so more people can add torrents. However, this will be under strict moderation to prevent the spread of malware.

GitHub: https://github.com/Not-Quite-RARBG/main

Link: https://nq-rarbg.to/

We encourage more and more developers to contribute and help us with our goal.

Thank you,

The SlideMovies Team

One thing I REALLY hope doesn’t make it into the clone… Rarbg made a point of claiming every single entry was seeded, despite the fact that pretty much anything more than a few months old was in fact not seeded and could only be obtained if another user came back. If you wanted to grab a TV show that had ended a couple years ago, you could bet that many episodes had a number of peers listed who were hoping it would be seeded again, but they never were. I guess I should clear out that stuff from my client now, but I actually have entries that have been waiting for up to two years because I couldn’t find them anywhere else.

So if any of the devs are reading this thread, please don’t insult your users in this way. Rarbg eventually became my last resort for finding downloads since I knew I couldn’t trust if anything was seeded, despite the high quality of the files that were represented when you could get them.

Honestly, 1337x is like 500 times worse about this. I’ve tried downloading torrents of that site claiming to have 50 seeders, but they were 100% dead torrents

One of my side projects is https://torrents-csv.ml , which is backed by a collaborative git repo of popular torrents. I do monthly scrapes, and found that A LOT of these torrents have no seeders anymore, even ones listed on 1337x and other popular ones.

I’ve been getting pretty decent results from torrent magnet for awhile now. Really they just seem to collect listings from other servers, but their status of each torrent has been pretty decent.

i wonder if they meant that they were al seeded initially, since RARBG was also a massive release hub.

      anyway, I hope you’re right.

They always seemed to have the active episodes seeded well enough, but every tracker should go through their inventory to update the current status on a timely basis. I didn’t really think it was too much to ask that a file I started downloading a year ago, which had a couple dozen other people attempting to download, should have been marked as having zero active seeds in that time?

Good luck! I’m still typing “rar [Enter]” into my address bar every 15 mins like it still exists, seeing their goodbye message over and over. How many years have I been taking this site for granted? Damn

i use Sonarr and Radarr to automate my downloads, so I haven’t manually searched for a torrent from a single site in several years. maybe for a game or app, but I’m on mac, so I use other sites for that.

Nice I’ll have to try those out. Are they meant to be pronounced with like a pirate accent? Arrrr lol

well, they’re meant to be used with a plex (or jellyfin) server. you’ll also need prowlarr to get them working.

Are they meant to be pronounced with like a pirate accent? Arrrr lol

you know, in all of these years, I’ve never though about it, lmao-- but they probably are! hahaha

Yeah I probably don’t download enough to be accepted (like 1 series per month and only a 1:10 down/up ratio since I like a lot of not super popular content) and I don’t use port forwarding since my server that manages it runs everything through a reverse proxy.

Good luck finding Flemish translations 😂
