i am a biology student from croatia mostly interested in herpetology and microbiology. i would like to start posting about those, and other, topics in a week or two when my exams are over. hopefully that will force me to read more science papers, maybe do some field work etc. is that something you guys would be interested in? if so, feel free to tell me what topics do you want me to cover! :)

I’m interested in whatever it’s thrown at me with enough entusiam, so give me facts about ramdom frogs i’ll never encounter and i will be happy.

My personal take, we’re still a little community so don’t be discouraged if things get little metrics, just continue writting!!

Hi there! Great that you’re here. Among other things, I would be curious to read about what is happening in your corner of the world. For instance in terms of biodiversity and attempts to map/protect it.

Ohh, hello Croatia! I’m moving to Split this week (I’ve been there once before, sadly Froggieland was closed then). Any unique spots that you can recommend in Croatia with funky plants or wildlife? I recently saw a Youtube vid of Mossy Earth doing a cleanup in caves somewhere between Split and Dubrovnik and that looked cool. I know that you have loads of nice environments to explore and I’m really looking forward to doing that.

depends on what youre interested in really. maybe try national parks (for example, krka, its close to split too) or other kinds of nature reserves for a guided tour, that way youre guaranteed to see something. but, i prefer to just pick up my backpack and go into the closest forest. choose one thing that interests you the most and start googling! theres really a lot to see here

Picking up a backpack and heading to the nearest bushes is also the kind of thing I like to do. I will definitely visit all the “must-see” places, but I was hoping to hear about a local gem that’s under the radar.
